A small, precious haven of my own,
carved from the thick trunk of a tree.
With warm lighting, I decorate the space
with all the things I love most,
peering out into the cold outside.

Though it's barely big enough for me
to curl up inside,
this tiny space is mine,
and I treasure it dearly.
Sometimes, when my body stiffens,
I step outside,
stretching in the crisp air,
freeing myself from the curled-up posture.
Even the chill feels pleasant—
because I have a place to return to.

Will this small haven ever grow larger?
Large enough for me to stretch my legs in comfort,
large enough to become a refuge
for someone lost along the way.
